2009 SSS Point Series/Bracket Rules

All trackbracket race points will be Summit SuperSeries Points for 2009. The entry fee to be in the SSS is $30.00. This is a one time fee each year. IHRA has a complete set of SSS rules & requirements.@ www.ihra.com

Enrollment for the point series is done in the track office. All drivers must have an IHRA competition number or a BBMAR permanent number to earn points.

  1. Drivers in all classes are advised to purchase an IHRA membership. If a driver chooses not to purchase an IHRA number, BBMAR will assign you a permanent number @ no charge. Numbers have to be at least 4” tall.
  2. The points are earned according to the number displayed on the vehicle. Should a driver change vehicles during the season, his or her permanent must be on that vehicle.
  3. All numbers and dial-ins are to be displayed on the driver’s side of the vehicle and right side windshield. The numbers have to be legible for the tower crew. (4" tall)
  4. Points will be given in eliminations unless there is a special event. Drivers will be notified if points are not given at a special event.
  5. A driver may not drive more than 1 car in the same eliminator. No swaping DRIVERS
  6. Points will be awarded to the driver and may not be transferred, even if the driver changes eliminator.
  7. Buy backs allowed only after 1st round. If you are a buy back after 1st round you will not earn points. However you can race for the purse.
  8. There will be Two Guarenteed Bracket Time Trials. A driver will be allowed to get into the Test & Tune lanes (3 & 4) before the Two Guarenteed Bracket Time Trials. For the Two Guarenteed Bracket Time Trials, come to the staging lanes when you're called and the appropriate colored light comes on, on the back of the stands. If a driver misses the 1st round of time trials, he will be allowed to get into the Test & Tune lanes. Should anyone decide to get into the Test & Tune Lanes (3 & 4), make as many passes as you feel you can. If you can not make the call for the race due to being hung up in the T & T lanes there will be no refund given and the race will start without you.

2009 Race Procedures

All eliminators entered will be given time trial or qualifying runs. Late arrivals are only guaranteed one (1) time trial before eliminations begin, if time permits.

  1. Time trials will be run by eliminator, out of their designated lanes.
  2. Pairing for eliminations may be determined using the coin system.
  3. No racer shall receive two bye runs unless all other remaining racers have had one bye run. Competition singles (paired opponent cannot make the call) do not count as a bye run.
  4. Courtesy staging is in effect during all points races except for Jr. Dragsters. If a car stages before both cars have pre-staged, the car will be backed out of the lights (one time only) and both cars will then restage.
  5. No deep staging is allowed.
  6. Jr. Dragster crew members will fire the car up when the two (2) cars before them have pre-staged. A maximum of 3 push-backs and 1 engine restart will be allowed prior to staging. Once the dragster has lit the pre-stage bulb, no crewmember will be allowed to touch the vehicle, other than to turn on a data switch.
  7. No driver may change vehicles once eliminations have begun.
  8. A driver may change vehicles before eliminations have begun, as long as the vehicle is not entered in the same class during the event. The tower must be notified of these changes.
  9. All dial-ins must be visible after crossing the yellow line in front of the staging lanes and cannot be changed after that. Jr. Dragster’s drivers may not change their dial-in after the first pair of Jr. Dragsters have staged.
  10. Reaction times and intermediate times are given as a courtesy to the driver and no races will be re-run over disputed times.
  11. It is the sole responsibility of the driver to check his or her dial-in before staging. Once both cars have staged, it is a race.
  12. License Runs: We have always supported our license applicants by offering drivers unlimited access to the track and will continue to do so every Saturday.
  13. Time Trails Only & Exhibition Runs: Some drivers attend our Saturday events in an effort to make only time trial or exhibition runs (test & tune). We understand that not all drivers and/or cars attend our Saturday events to compete in our bracket race. However, Saturday is our RACE DAY.
